Ed Kashi, Antonia Sinibaldi (Antonia Verni), 9, was struck by a drunken driver when she was two years old. She is a quadrapilegic and needs a respirator to breath. Antonias life changed on October 24, 1999 when a sports fan driving drunk on his way home from a game at Giants Stadium in New Jersey, slammed head-on into the car Antonias father was driving. Her mother, Fazila Baksh Verni attends to and comforts Antonia. Fazilas injuries from the accident left her in a short term coma. Along with reconstructive facial surgery, Fazila also required a metal rod to be inserted into her right leg. |
